Position Overview

The ideal candidate for the IT Assistant position will possess strong technical skills, particularly in LAN Servers, Windows 10, and Windows 11 environments. This role involves providing technical support to end-users regarding hardware, software, network, and system-related issues. The IT Assistant will install, configure, and maintain networks, VPNs, and Servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability. They will also assist in the deployment and management of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems across the organization, troubleshooting and resolving IT-related problems in a timely manner, and escalating issues to senior IT staff as necessary.

Furthermore, the IT Assistant will help set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, and conduct routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patches, and backups. Documenting IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference is also a key responsibility. The role requires collaboration with IT team members to implement technology solutions that meet organizational needs, providing training and support to staff on IT-related topics as needed, and staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in IT to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness. The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a Technician degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and proven experience working with Network, VPN, Servers, Access Point, Windows 10, and Windows 11 environments. Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies is essential, along with experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Familiarity with system administration tasks such as user management, permissions, and group policies is required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail, effective communication skills (both verbal and written), and fluency in English (B2). Proficiency in Virtualization, VMware, and backups is also necessary. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

This Junior IT Assistant will assist with technical issues, including hardware, software, and network support, for both English and Spanish-speaking users. This role is key to maintaining efficient operations and providing excellent support. Key responsibilities include solving technical problems for hardware, software, and networks, installing and maintaining computers, software, and devices, supporting end-users in both English and Spanish, monitoring systems to ensure efficient operation, and creating credentials for new users. The salary for this position ranges from $2,500,000 COP to $3,000,000 COP.
